Heather Blum, the Owner and CEO of EnviroZen LLC, holds a Bachelor of Science degree in human biology from The University of Wisconsin Green Bay and a Master of Public Health degree from the Medical College of Wisconsin. Heather is a licensed Registered Sanitarian in the state of Wisconsin. She has a certificate in ergonomics. She holds a Lead Risk Assessor certification in Wisconsin.
Heather has enjoyed a successful career, working for the federal government and at local agencies practicing environmental health and preparedness and at an area technical college where she has served as a part-time faculty instructor in microbiology and anatomy and physiology. She has leveraged her expertise to provide innovative solutions to complex challenges for more than a decade. Heather has won numerous awards for her work including awards for communications, lead paint and preparedness. Heather served as a panel expert for rural healthy housing. She has trained in a variety of disciplines including Lean Six Sigma, Root Cause Analysis, Hazard Communication, Nanomaterial Health and Safety, Mishap Investigation, Human Factors, Industrial Ventilation and many other topics relating to health, safety and processes.
In addition to her extensive career, Heather is a long-time member of the National Environmental Health Association (NEHA), ensuring she stays informed about best practices in the field. She volunteers on a Rural and Frontier Committee for NEHA to support America’s environmental health workforce in reducing and eliminating harmful exposures for people nationwide. Heather is a member of her township’s Zoning Board of Appeals. She loves living in northeast Wisconsin.
In her leisure time, Heather loves traveling with her family, voraciously reading everything she gets her hands on (including owner’s manuals—how else would one know not to operate a lawn mower in the shower? It was in the manual. True story.), and spending quality moments with her rescued collie dogs who, in turn, lovingly supervise her every move.
